Chit you spend more on a reel then that & it never see's the water lol Well, after deciding to replace burned up bearings instead of repacking them, I am now over my most expensive reel. And still not in the water.

well if you stayed on top of your boat and trailer like you do your high dollar reels you wouldn't be in this mess lol & if you don't get it fixed you will not need them reels and can sell them to cover the added cost . I may know someone looking for a good buy on high end gear lol Me!!!
Now get'er done will ya so you can get her wet !!!!

As usual what you think is a small repair turns into much more when you open the can of worms !
Better to find the problem now than along Route 1 !

I don't mind gettng it done now, sure as hell beats a tow from downstate. I'm just b!tching because I haven't recovered yet from a LOW paycheck a few months ago and wasn't quite prepared for what I found. Jeff, you thinking of making a bid on some offshore stuff? I can honestly state "barely used"! LOL ;D

bro I'm in the same boat as you with money , I just got back working this month ,been out since thanksgiving but tax refunds and rebate sure do help to get me going again lol i'm not ready yet to get bigger gear yet but may by next season if we think we will use it enough to justify the expense . now not the time to spend on gear with high fuel prices and tight regs on all fish. I guess it is a bad time to learn the offshore game with all things considered.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point. Last night started final assembly, finished this morning. Family wants to go for a cruise so I tell them as soon as I bleed the brakes, we're going. Back to Eastern I go, $%^&*ing actuator is shot. (yep, ran myself right of of my "bad word vocabulary", I think I even made up some new bad words) OK Jeff, now I have not only passed the price of the reel, but the rod and line too. One of them HAS to get wet this year, right? Who wants to bet I will now be checking/servicing the brakes twice a year instead of every other year?

I could loan you some easy to use mahi/bluefish/falsie gear and we can work you up to those dust covered used-to-be-pretty-gold things I got in the basement. (you know, the expensive stuff that doesn't get wet :
