I primarily used Suffix braid on most of my reels this year and liked it alot. Does anyone else here use it ? If you did, how did it compare to other braids you have used. I use 30 lb. on my spinners and 50 on my heavy gear. Never had a problem with knots and it has been awesome when togging in the wrecks.

Ive seen a lot of ads for it, and i have a couple of new reels this year that i might go with it on. I was going to put the 50 on for trolling the Chessy this spring. hows the price?

Phishman, the price compares to PP and Stren. If you go on the Suffix website they may still have coupons that you can print out.

Penn. PP is ok. I haven't tried Suffix yet but I can tell you one thing. It's best left to the spinning reels instead of the baitcasters. PP is not as forgiving as the good ol mono as far as over runs and knots are concerned. PP has worked out for me so far. A little pricey as you go up in lb test and yrds per spool too. But look for the end of season sales too. I got a good deal from Carlisles Marine on my 20# PP spools this past fall. Good luck which ever you choose. Checking the web sites for coupons isn't a bad idea either!

Trolling with braid might be tough because of the no stretch component.....when the fish hits it can actually pull the hook straight through the fishes flesh....IMHO trolling with braid can cause some lost fish.....but if you plan on bottom fishing....BRAID all the way.
