I have a small side console that I have mounted a RayMarine L365 fish finder on in addition to my hand held gps and I mounted an Icom M302 vhf radio in the center. I have a 44inch stainless wire whip antena mounted on the side. When I turn the vhf on the desired channel I have to turn the squelch almost all the way up to cut out the pulsing from the fish finder's transducer. Has any one else had this particular problem and if so, what was/is the best fix for the problem besides moving the vhf and or antenna? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Beside moving , it may be the spark plugs

Thanks EZ. I guess that the vhf is too close to the fish finder. I'll try and separate the grounds to each and ground them out again? ? It's definately comming from the Ray L365.

If that doesn't work, get a noise supression transformer and install it in-line with the 12volt power to the VHF. Should be available at any electronics store.

Thx BW23. Do you mean like an R/C Snubber that is installed in series on some control applications? that type ofsuppression/transformer?

Gotcha now bw23. Both are good suggestions. I'll try the ferite first being only $5 and change and Rad.Shack is right around the corner. If not I'll order the one on line from Crutchfield. I'll let ya know how it goes. Have a good one. ;D
