Ian it looks like the two pieces of plywood they made the transom with is seperating check with ins company first then what we can do is grind away some of the gel coat and see what is going on in there check the quality of the wood and just go from there. I would say if it is wet you wait until the first real freeze she should 0pen up a bit more it there is water in there see once piece of plywood goes across the whole stern the next piece is only where the engines are depending on but that is mostly what I have seen glad we didnt have that shot gun start that day haha

Problem seems to be not as extensive as we thought..Turns out the crack is epoxy that was used to even out the lines of the transom when it was refurbed. The surveyer found some other problems though. There are a few cracks up in the cabin that look to be weather related. Also they used the wrong hoses when they replumbed the boat.Good news is he thinks insurance should cover everything but the hoses. He said it is a very solid boat just needs some work to fix the shooty work that was done when it was refurbed. No structural damage he said so I will likely not need a new transom.Although I do like robs idea.Only con to that is it is so easy to fish the back of the boat with the cut transom.I have rarely taken water on the back but the sound of making the boat bigger has me intrigued.Anyway I will keep you guys posted as to the final disions. Thanks for all the advise.
