I got a call yesterday from my neihboor at the beach. Here some drunk ran the stop sign at my place and ran into Talkin Tails. The hit the side of the boat and drove it back three feet bent the dolly jack and hit the side of the trailer smashing my new fender into the wheel and tire. My deductable is $500 and I figure that is what I will spend to fix the damage. Who looses just me. The drunk fled the scene leaving pieces of their auto in my front yard. This nuts drives me nuts. I have insurance but when there are issues it seems somehow never covered. Oh well to many more days like today and I'll wonna get the boat back in the water.

that sucks, sorry to hear the bad news, usually the safest place for a boat is in the water,I know Talking Tails... I say she got more of the upper hand than the perpetrator...a few more months and we'll all be in a better mood

Get a police report before you talk to your ins company. DE law says uninsured motorist, or a hit and run, is 250, regardless of your listed deductible. *Should* apply to property damage also (your actual agent should be able to verify this) but that's not my area-just automotive collision damage. 250 still suxx, but hopefully it'll soften the blow a bit if they apply it. Good luck...

Had two 80 gal tanks made last year by atlantic in Jersy $1,600. they do nice work. Mine were 20 years old and one had a pair of dime size holes in it and the other was getting close. I got lucking that it started leaking at the dock, you don't want to deal with that when your outside.

I hear ya on that,my old tank did have a couple of deep pits in the corners,I'm glad I replaced it now...with the temp outside so low I was able to use my shop at work to seal the tank... feed the general manager a few tuna steaks I can pretty much use it when I want

I think it has been determined that it is a bad idea to foam in the tank. The foam holds moisture against the tank & causes corrosion. You may want check that out. Did you have mounting tabs welded onto the tank so you could bolt in place?

it is a bad idea but if you coal tar epoxy the tank you create a barrier, the foam then locks the tank in place,I am only foaming the corners not the entire coffin like mako did...a big difference...the tabs will only do so much,I will run a few screws threw the tabs,I'll post a few pics tomorrow when I've sobered up... once again cheers!!!

I'm hoping the bluefin will be inside the 20 line like last year with the price of fuel going up it will be a tough one at the pumps,I think a lot of people will be doing more overnighters and chunking during the day to save fuel...we shall see!!!...no free rides this year.
